Opinions of Social Studies Teachers on Environmental Education Through Social Studies Curriculum and Textbooks

As the number of global environmental problems is increasing day by day, one courses given in education, which gaining importance, social studies. In this context, education studies gains as well. From point view, research aims to determine views teachers about through curriculum and textbooks. The was conducted with a phenomenological design, qualitative designs. study group consisted 8 working schools affiliated Ministry National Education Türkiye (MoNE) fall semester 2021-2022. data were collected semi-structured interview form prepared researcher. obtained analysed descriptive analysis method. According findings, are opinions below: emphasis on sustainability principle low, it insufficient terms achievements not suitable for level, however, sufficient skills. addition, textbooks far from actuality, especially at 5th-grade visualization insufficient. While applied-based approach mostly adopted has been emphasized that most important problem realization procedure. Teachers suggested practice activity-based environmentalist content.
